My Dub

Yesterday Anna, Sullivan and I did a little shopping around Lexington. When we left, we drove past Lexington High School where the FFA was having a tractor show. There was a parking lot with about 30 tractors parked in it, including a couple of small pedal tractors that Sullivan could sit on. We decided to stop and walk around a bit. As we were parking, Sullivan spotted this man with a hat on like Bill wears and started saying, "Dub, Dub, Dub." Sully took off running towards the man, even though Anna and I kept telling him this was not Dub. when he got almost up to the guy, he realized that it was not Dub. Thank goodness by then he had spotted all the tractors and was completely distracted! When I told Bill about it, he said "I wish you would not even tell me things like that!" I just wanted him to know how much he is loved by that little boy.

Not my truck!

Several weeks ago, Sullivan learned the word "mine." John thought it best that he wait a while to start saying that word so he would say to Sullivan, "It is not yours." Sullivan's favorite word is "truck" so of course he started saying "my truck" quite often. I guess John must have responded with, "It is not your truck." In the last 2 weeks, Sullivan's favorite phrase is "not my truck." Today, as we handed the saleslady a couple of videos to purchase, Sullivan said, "Not my truck." I think when he considers anything related to ownership, his reaction is "Not my truck." Poor little guy! Will he ever have anything that is his????

Gigi!!!

Today I met Anna and Sullivan for lunch. Of course, they were at the restaurant before I was. When I walked in, Sully looked up and said "Gigi!" for the first time! John and Anna said that he had been saying my name at home for a few days but I heard it with my own ears for the first time! Literally makes me cry to think about it now! He is so precious!
