Meeting Ruthie
2/6/16 - Dub and I took Sully and Jesse to the hospital to visit their mom, dad and new baby. We had not even told them that the baby was here so that John and Anna could be the ones to tell them about Ruthie. They were a little taken aback by the whole thing but quickly were smitten with their new baby sister!
Ruth Louise - February 6, 2016
2/6/16 - Sweet Ruth Louise was born in the early morning hours of Saturday, February 6, 2016! I sent John a text at about 4:30 a.m. to ask how things were going. He called me immediately to say "We have a girl!" So much joy! Ruthie Lou has joined the crew!
Rebound Sully!
January 2016 - I took Sully and Jesse to one of Sully's basketball games on a Saturday morning. Jesse cheered Sully on....."Rebound Sully, rebound!"
Options????
2011 - We were sitting at the dinner table one Sunday when Sully did something that required some discipline. Anna got up, picked him up and started carrying him down the hall. As they were walking we heard him say "Mom, what are my options?"
What will I be when I grow up?
January 2016 - Anna was talking to Jesse and Sully about their future professions. Sully's class has been talking about community workers. Jesse wants to be a firetruck driver. Sully wants to be an engineer or a garbage man!
CVS lady
March 2015 - I had Jesse and Sully out to run a few errands and Jesse (all 35 pounds of him) fell asleep. I still had to run into CVS for a few things. Thinking I would lay him in the shopping cart, I decided to go ahead and try to get it done. When we got in Jesse let me know pretty quickly that he was not willing to lay in the cart but wanted me to carry him while he slept. Sully was very helpful, getting items from the shelf for me, putting stuff on the counter as I paid and being his normal adorable self - asking questions of the CVS clerk and even helping her put some stock on the shelves. As we were leaving the CVS clerk gave him a pack of candy which confused him - he thought she was stealing. When we got to the car I told him that she would pay for the items but to no avail. We stuck our heads back in the door, with me still lugging Jesse, and I asked her to assure him that she was not stealing. She did just that and again praised him for his good behavior and helpfulness. As we were driving away Sully said, "Gigi, when I grow up I'm going to work with that CVS lady....if she is still alive!" I guess that 45 year old woman looked ancient to him as a 5 year old!
Foxes in the Cemetery
12/2016 While riding home from church with Sully and Jesse in the car, Sully asked, "Gigi, why are foxes dangerous to people?" I assured him that they really aren't dangerous to people...maybe to small animals but not to people. His next question was "Then why are there so many foxes in the cemetery?" What a smart boy!
